4 BEER MYTHS BUSTED!!

Love alcohol? But still caught in the web of myths? Well, then this article is just right for you.
The following are 4 myth bubbles about beer that you need to bust.

MYTH 1: Beer is best stored in glass bottles than cans.

This is absolutely wrong. The glass lets air (oxygen) pass through the spaces under the cap which ruins the taste of the beverage over time. Also, the worst form of glass bottles is that that is absolutely transparent which lets light also pass through which turns the beer nasty in taste and odour.
On the other hand, cans, aluminium cans in particular, are best to store beer because they keep out light and air. If you don’t like to drink from a can, then you can always pour the ligation in a beer glass and dink.

MYTH 2: The colour of the beer determines the alcohol content in it.

Nope, this is not true. The colour of the beer is determined by the malt (of barley grains) which in turn determines the kind of beer that will be brewed. The alcohol content is determined by the amount of sugar and yeast used in the fermentation process. So, the lightness and darkness has nothing has nothing to do with the alcohol content. Please do not bring racism in beer at least!

MYTH 3: Beer belly!

Most certainly alcohol causes damage to the liver and slows down metabolism which results in a protruding tummy and other weight related issues. But, drinking beer in moderate quantity (12 ounces of beer for males and less than that for females) everyday doesn’t give you a paunch. Your paunch could be because of other habits and foods. So, kindly do not reproach the poor beer for your tummy fat.

MYTH 4: Wine is a healthier ligation than beer.

Okay, so this is something like a tutored sentence that every alcohol consumer says. But, unfortunately, we fail to understand that our ‘teachers’ have themselves been students and they are passing on the knowledge that they had received from their teachers. A good student is the one who is curious to know more than what he/she has been taught. Both alcohol and wine contain antioxidants called polyphenols. But people think that just because wine is made by fermenting fruit juice, it has to have a greater amount of antioxidants. But, that’s not the case. In the book, Beer: health and nutrition written by Bamforth, it is written that a study conducted on the ability of the polyphenols present in both beer and wine, to oxidize fat, proved that beer outperforms wine in this regard. So, do not underestimate the power of the beer polyphenols!

Since, hopefully, now your bubble of myths has been busted, Spread the word and bust others’ bubbles of myths about beer this season!
Happy Beer! 😊 😊 😊 😊
